It was impossible to share stories with a female and expect to go away from it, especially since Lucy simply directed the attention to Sakura’s love life, to take the interest off her own. “Sort of~? Come on, elaborate! I bet it’s really cute, like you!”
“Their isn’t really much to tell..” She didn’t really wanna go into detail about her own love life. Although she does love the concept of romance herself, discussing it made her fairly embarrassed.
Thankfully by this point, Lucy has been informed of her situation with the Cards. Otherwise it’d almost be impossible to explain everything without lying and changing a few details. “We’re not actually, ‘together’ or anything like that though.. But we did confess, quite some time ago..”
She nodded, waving her own emotions off and grinning at the other. “I’m sure everything will be alright. So what about you? The way you;re talking, it sounds like you’ve got a pretty sweet love life~”
“N-No!” Sakura immediately responded and averted her gaze, staring down at the ground in embarrassment. Hoping that Lucy’s love life would remain the topic of conversation for today, although understands how it ended up shifting over. “Well, sort of..”
She nodded, chewing on her lower lip hesitantly, though her eyes did glance back up at the girl, meeting gazes, honey to emerald. “Natsu is very nice… But if….he doesn’t like me the way I like him…..and he wouldn’t because he doesn’t understand love, but….when that happens…my heart…would hurt. A lot. I don’t think I can take that pain..”
Sakura didn’t want to pressure her into doing so if she truly feels that she isn’t ready to do such a thing, but it’s hard for her to imagine people not wanting to convey certain types of emotions. “Well, I wish you the best of luck. Everything will surely be alright!”
”..If you know Natsu…. Well, Natsu doesn’t understand romance. He would rather start a fight and charge in, then to go on a date. He’s that sort of a person. His feelings…. I think it’s clear that Natsu doesn’t have romantic feelings for me. I just…don’t want to…” She trailed off, staring at her hands, at the guild mark, shaking her head at the memories. “I don’t want to ruin our friendship.”
“I don’t know Natsu-san as well as you, but.. You should really him a little credit. When I had spoken with him, he seemed really caring! He actually reminded me a bit of my Onii-chan..” Sakura admitted. She hasn’t been spending much time with her brother as of lately, so he felt especially pleased whenever she would converse with Natsu. Even if he doesn’t see her in such a manner, it gave her a pleasant feeling.
“Ruin your friendship?” She could definitely understand her position, since she had the same worries herself not too long ago. “But, aren’t you curious about what would happen?”
“…That…would be impossible.” After all, considering the fact that the one she loved was…Natsu Dragneel, the greatest densest Dragon Slayer of them all….telling him about her feelings towards him would be the mistake of a lifetime. He wouldn’t understand it, and knowing the man, it would likely come back to bite her, painfully.
“But why? I was really nervous before I told him about how I felt.. Even though I already knew about his feelings, I knew that I had to tell him my own..” Sakura informed Lucy as she stared down at the ground, quite embarrassed to be having this discussion. But, worth it if she can possibly help things along. “I felt amazing afterwards, I felt really good after having finally said it.”
“…Have someone…?” Her cheeks only darkened as the Celestial Mage staggered back at the thought, as though it weighed heavily upon her heart.
“In my heart, yes. A special somebody..”
“That’s great!” Sakura said joyfully. She finds it lovely to know that people have also found someone they hold so very dear. Having already found her own ‘special someone’, and thankfully her feelings were returned. Although, not much has happened between them since than. “I’m happy to hear that.. I hope you tell that person how you feel.”
“Y-Yeah.. Well, do you already have somebody?” Sakura asked curiously, hoping that Lucy’s answer would be yes. It may be none of her business to inquire about such a personal matter, but she felt the need to. “Your, special somebody?”
